Some pretend to be ocean. Others pretend to be sand. But if you’re not getting us out of hear, then just forget it man. I’ve been keeping track out fish and don’t know why they’re stickin’ around, and though no matter how bad they might want it they’ll never drown, but that’s not keeping them down. Oh! I just need to find my wind again. Every whisper’s louder when there’s no one to hear you. Every scream is softer when you’re this far away. I’ve been pushing past the white caps hoping I can get further. Is it easier to pretend I just want to stay? The last time that I woke up smiling I was buried in your comforter listening to the wind blowing through the palm trees, and swore it was the sea. I’ve got waves and I got bottles. I got paper. I got a pen. But calling S.O.S. has failed before. So what if it fails again? Then those not searching would win. I just need to find my wind again-someone who’s breath could fill these sails, to take me home when my lungs fail. I am kept alive knowing that I’m not the only one who’s feeling this.
